Nikwax Down Wash

Specialty cleaner specifically designed for safely cleaning down-filled apparel and gear is key to maintaining the integrity of the insulation. Household detergents can actually harm the down by leaving behind residues that attract water, which in turn can compromise the loft and insulating properties of the material.

This easy-to-use cleaner can be applied directly in the washing machine to improve the water repellency of all types of down fill and also the outer fabric of the items. It is recommended for use on jackets, gear, and bedding that contain down-fill, down blends, or water-resistant down like Nikwax Hydrophobic Down.

Nikwax products are PFAS-free, water-based, non-persistent, and do not contain any optical brighteners or added scent, making them safe for machine washing. Just one full cap of the cleaning product, which is approximately 50ml, is sufficient for each wash.
